PIESA are proud to announce that the Environmental and Safety management working group will present a course for PIESA members on Environmental Engineering for Electricity utilities at the UMEME Training centre in Kampala in Uganda.
There will be no cost for the course for PIESA members, however, delegates will be responsible for their own flights and accommodation and transport to the Silver Springs Hotel

Course Outcomes:
On successful completion of this course, the leaner is capable of:
Understanding the concept of ‘sustainable development’ and the need for it from a business perspective.
Incorporating appropriate environmental management strategies into projects.
Analysing and implementing various environmental assessment tools, such as environmental impact assessments (EIAs).
Understanding climate change as it relates to the electrical industry
Monitoring the environment.
Appreciating the environment they are going to operate in as engineers.
